Happy (almost) New Year!
The R-PMS/HS Performing Arts Staff in partnership with Celebrity Workshops are thrilled to announce the the incredible Trevor Miles will be our Hamilton Workshop Masterclass Instructor hoted at R-P on Saturday, January 25th. Trevor has taught multiple workshops and always receives RAVE reviews! TREVOR MILES is from Coos Bay, Oregon and began his dance training at the Pacific School of Dance at age 17, under the direction of Christine Rader and Connie Hogge. He has studied on scholarship at the American Ballet Theater in New York, as well as Milwaukee Ballet in Wisconsin. Miles attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA, where he performed works by Ohad Naharin, Pat Hon, and Timothy Lynch. While in Seattle he also danced as a company member with Ashani Dances, under Artistic Director, Iyun Harrison. While in New York he has danced as a member of Ballet Hispanico Dos, Peridance, and most recently has been a guest artist with the Company of Dance Arts. His favorite theater credits include Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and Oklahoma!, at the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater. Recently Trevor was in a production of Let There Be Light at NYSummerfest Theater Festival, where it won the award for Best Play/Musical. Trevor can currently be seen touring the nation with the Hamilton Philip Company. There are still a few coveted spots left if our workshop on Saturday, January 25th. Happy (almost) New Year! I hope you're enjoying each and every moment of break. Though the transition back into school can always be a bit tough (staying up too late and sleeping in feels soooo good sometimes), it's going to be a GREAT 2020 and I'm excited to see you and get started! The Sounds of the Season Concert is one week away on Thursday, December 12th. To help prepare for the big night, I’ve scheduled some rehearsal opportunities for singers so they can have success on the stage next Thursday. PRE-CONCERT SET-UP HELP NEEDED: Job Description: The Rocket Center is a happening place in December and is booked from one event to the next. We need to set the stage for the Choir Concert immediately following the HS Band Concert on Wednesday, December 11th. This will involve moving Uniform Racks/Setting up backstage changing areas, Decorating the Stage and moving risers/pianos, etc. We will be rehearsing on stage the next morning. ‘Tis the Season for some Holiday Cheer! The R-PMS 7th and 8th grade Singers have been busily preparing some fabulous music and surprises for their annual Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 12th! The concert will feature our 7th and 8th grade singers, with special appearances by the R-PI 5th & 6th Grade Choirs and a few other surprise seasonal guests! R-PI/R-PMS Choirs Sounds of the Season Christmas Concert When: Thursday, December 12th 2019 Where: Reeths-Puffer High School Rocket Center Doors Open: 6:30PM Showtime: 7PM General Seating: FREE Admission, Donations Appreciated Concert Schedule: Thursday, December 12th 2019 5-5:15PM: Norseman Strings (Rocket Center) & Treble Maker (Rehearsal Room) Check-In 5:30PM: 7/8 Student Check-In Men: Dressing Rooms Ladies: HS Rehearsal Room 6PM:

7:00PM: Concert Show Time Where is the Concert? The concert will be held in the HS Rocket Center Auditorium. Please park in the lot off of Roberts Rd. and enter by the Auditorium. 7/8 Students will need to go directly to the Dressing Rooms to get their uniforms. R-PI Singers should check in at the auditorium entrance doors and go right in to be seated. Audience may enter at 6:30PM. Who is in the Concert? R-PI Singers, (120+) 7th and 8th Grade Choir Singers, Special Guest Musicians….and a partridge in a pear tree! What will my student have to wear to the concert? 7/8 Singers: Plan to wear/bring black dress shoes and undergarments as specified on the Choir Uniform Contract. You will change upon arrival to RPHS. Will there be DVDs of the Show? Yes! We are working with a professional videographer and will be offering special DVDs of the concert available for purchase after the program. The cost will be $15 per DVD. Order forms will be sent home and will be available at the concert. What a gift and memory for friends and family! Santa’s Shop in the Rocket Center Lobby: Santa’s Elves are getting ready to serve up some fun in the Rocket Center Lobby before and after the concert. Check out Santa’s Shop to pick up DVD Forms, Choir T-shirts and Holiday Poinsettia Plants! Donations are also appreciated J Performance and Grading: As a performance-based class, concerts are a mandatory portion of a student’s participation in the RPMS Choir program. In the event that a student cannot attend a pre-scheduled performance or concert, communication is the key to success. Please refer to the Choir handbook for more specifics on how Concert absences are handled. Every performance is a learning opportunity. Singers will be earning points in the following categories on 12/12: Attendance, Tech Rehearsal Conduct, Concert Conduct, Musical Contribution and Uniform Care.
