Dear Choir Families,
Two Important Announcements and Reminders as we approach a busy Concert Week: GIVING BEAN FUNDRAISER REMINDERS:
If you are still interested in sending your student on the Lansing Field Trip on Saturday, December 16th, or, attending yourself as a Chaperone, the deadline for forms and fees has been EXTENDED to Friday, October 27th! Information Packets are available in class or at this link: http://reeths-pufferchoirs.weebly.com/middle-school-blog/r-pms-choirs-lansing-field-trip-info Dear Choir Families, The R-PMS Choirs are looking for a few seamstresses and/or parents willing to assist as needed with our Choir Formal Uniforms in 2017-18. It is important to note that we needed sewing-capable people, but also, some adults just to assist as needed (I myself would be in this category with my lack of sewing skills!) We are fortunate to have some nice black gowns for our ladies and shirt, pants and ties for our young men to wear during performances in the coming year. That said, each year we need assistance both with trying on the uniforms, as well as doing any needed alterations. The alterations usually only entail hemming based for height. This will be our 4th year with the uniforms and we've created an organizational plan/schedule over the year of how to handle the fittings and a timeline that works well for alterations. I plan to hold formal attire fittings during class time and after our Fall Concert which is coming up next week. Our lead seamstress in 2017-18 will be Kim Irvine. Kim is a talented seamstress who has worked with these uniforms before and will make a great leader. We will need uniform help during daytime class hours on the following dates: Tuesday 10/24 (9:53-10:58), Wednesday 10/25 (9:23-10:58AM), Thursday 10/26 (10:16-12:09AM) & Friday, 10/27 (9:53-11:58AM) There are (2) choir ensembles this year. One meets 3rd hour and is our "Mixed Voice" group (53 students) and one meets 4th hour and is our "Treble Voice" group (47 students). Please respond and let me know if you're able to help in the following ways:

RP Choirs Blog: http://reeths-pufferchoirs.weebly.com/ On October 14th and 15th, a group of children in a program called The Penguin Project® take to the stage at the Muskegon Frauenthal Theatre to perform a modified version of the classic Broadway production of "Annie".
This production is unique, however, because all of the roles are filled by children with developmental disabilities including Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, visual impairment, hearing impairment, and other neurological disorders. They are joined on stage by their “peer mentors”, a group of children the same age without disabilities, who have volunteered to work with them side-by-side and guide them through 4 months of rehearsals and the final production. By creating unrestricted access to the performing arts, The Penguin Project® demonstrates that the special challenges of a disability need not handicap a child’s ability to participate in life’s experiences. “Our penguins may not be able to fly, but that does not prevent their spirits from soaring.” There are several R-P Students involved/Starring in the Production:
